Jessie's Phoenix Ring — Old Diamonds, New Chapter
Some of the most meaningful pieces we make aren't engagement rings. They're what comes after.
Jessie came to us with diamonds from a previous chapter of her life — stones she still loved, in a setting she was ready to leave behind. She had recently moved to Boulder, and she wanted something that marked the moment: a ring that took what she already had and turned it into something that belonged entirely to who she is now.
What Is a Phoenix Ring?
We've made a few of these now, and we've started calling them Phoenix Rings. They come to us at a particular kind of turning point — one that is far more often marked by excitement and relief than by sadness. The diamonds stay. Everything else changes. The result is a piece that carries the stones forward into a life that fits better.
The Design
Jessie was drawn to a modern aesthetic with a celestial sensibility — and she was immediately struck by the idea of an open ring, where the band doesn't close into a full circle but instead wraps around the finger with two distinct ends. It's a contemporary silhouette with a freeness to it that felt right for this particular moment in her life.
We took that open form and made it hers. Her larger heirloom diamond anchors one end, set inside a circular bezel and surrounded by a crescent of smaller diamonds — a crescent moon glowing with stones that already belonged to her. On the other side of the open band, two four-pointed star shapes set with more of her diamonds wrap around the finger like satellites in orbit. The whole ring moves between the geometric and the celestial, sharp and dreamy at once.
The Result
Every diamond in this ring was Jessie's before she walked through the door. Now they live in something that looks nothing like what they came from — modern, celestial, and completely her own. A fresh start that didn't waste a single stone.
