Emily's Chrysos Band — When the Stack Calls for a Little Darkness

Emily's gothic engagement ring already had plenty to say. What it needed was a wedding band that could keep up.

Earlier this year Emily got her engagement ring — a low profile ring with a salt and pepper center stone, hall-of-mirrors white baguette diamonds, and a hidden side detail. When it came time to choose a wedding band, the question wasn't just about shape. It was about color.

The Brief: Pull Out the Pepper

The salt and pepper center stone in Emily's engagement ring has just the right amount of black inclusions — moody, dramatic, and entirely its own. Surrounded by all those sparkling white baguettes, the pepper needed something in the stack to echo it. Something that would draw the eye to the darkness already living in the center stone rather than letting it disappear.

Jet black diamonds were the answer. Set point-side-up into an open band, they pull the pepper forward and give the whole stack a cohesion it couldn't have achieved with white stones alone. The points of the inverted diamonds also add just enough edge to enhance and not soften Emily's engagement ring design.

The Chrysos Open Band

The band choice was just as considered as the stone choice. Emily's engagement ring has a hidden detail on its side profile — and with a low profile ring, that detail is part of what makes it special. A standard band would bury it. The Chrysos open band solves this elegantly: its open design means the side detail of the engagement ring remains visible from every angle, the two pieces framing each other rather than competing.

The Result

Together the two rings work as a true stack — the white baguettes and jet black diamonds in conversation, the salt and pepper center stone suddenly more itself with darkness on a side of it. Every ring supports the other. Nothing is accidental.

This is what a well-built stack does: it creates a symbiosis where the whole is more striking than any single piece alone.

Building Your Own Stack?

The right wedding band isn't just about shape — it's about how your rings work together. We think about color, profile, stone choice, and hidden details to create a stack where everything belongs. If you're not sure where to start, that's exactly what we're here for.
