This is a natural green pear sapphire, 3.49 carats and measuring 10.80 by 8.00mm, richly green and cut into a soft, tapered pear. It was sourced from Diego Suarez in Madagascar and hand-selected by Heather and her team in Boulder, Colorado.
Sapphire sits at Mohs 9 on the hardness scale, which makes it one of the most everyday-durable stones you can set into a ring you plan to wear for the rest of your life. A diamond at Mohs 10 is technically harder, and the scale is not linear, but a 9 is genuinely tough enough for daily wear.
