Canadian Diamond Platinum Sagitta Solitaire

Prepare to be wowed! We can confidently say that Royce knocked it out of the park. We also need to give him major props, it's not easy designing a custom engagement ring entirely in secret, way to go Royce!
Royce chose a stunning 1.30ct oval brilliant from the Ekati mine in Canada. We love Canadian diamonds because they are 100% traceable. Mining is a dirty industry and it's nice to have the peace of mind that your diamond is ethical, natural and untreated.
One of the ways Royce helped us in determining his girlfriend Emily's ring style was by showing us pictures of her jewelry and pictures of her clothing. It helped that Emily had shopped with us before! She had a great bohemian flair and loved the feather detail in her previous jewelry from us, so going with our signature Sagitta solitaire with a twist was a safe bet.
We set the oval diamond in a basket setting to allow more light to pass through and give that diamond the brilliance it was made to share.
As an added twist we pinched the band right where it comes out of the basket, narrowing the shank in towards the stone really draws the eye to the stone and makes it pop!
White gold is made from nickel and yellow gold mixed together which gives it a warm white look. It is then plated in rhodium to achieve that icy white that everyone loves. The rhodium also helps to create a barrier between the skin and the nickel because nickel happens to be the #1 dermatitis allergy. Since Royce didn't know if Emily was allergic to nickel he went with platinum, which when polished to a high shine is icy white. You don't need to rhodium plate it and you don't have to worry about allergies, so there's less long term upkeep. It is also a stronger metal, so when you have valuable diamond center stones, having platinum prongs gives it a super secure setting.
Royce brought in a ring that Emily wears, and we were able to use the size of that ring to determine her ring size. We do our absolute best to try and figure out ring sizes based on many different methods, but rest assured, if we're off by a little or a lot, there is always a complimentary ring resize for the first six months.
Thinking about popping the question? Hopefully, after hearing Royce's story you'll feel confident enough to come in or have a conversation with us over the phone (we don't bite!), we can help you sleuth, give you ideas to get started, and hold your hand (invisibly!) as we walk you through the process. It can feel absolutely overwhelming, with lots of decisions, but fear not! We are there with you every step of the way. It really, truly can all be hush hush and be super successful. We promise. Congratulations Royce & Emily, so excited for you both, and Burger too!!
