Spinel Round 1.01ct
This is a natural pink-purple spinel, a 1.01 carat round in a Portuguese cut measuring 6.1mm, sourced from Tanzania. Spinel is one of the most historically underrated gems, long mistaken for ruby and sapphire in royal jewels before gemologists could tell the stones apart. Heather hand-selected this one for Bohemi's studio in Boulder, Colorado, for its lively pinky-purple body color and the bright faceting of the Portuguese cut.
Spinel sits at Mohs 8, hard enough for everyday wear and a clear step up from many colored stones, though diamond at 10 and sapphire at 9 are harder still. It is almost always untreated, and that holds true here, so this color is entirely the stone's own. That is a genuine part of why collectors seek spinel out.
Bohemi does not sell loose stones. This spinel is set into an engagement ring or a custom piece, and the $1060 price is the starting point for your ring. Explore the full range of engagement rings.
