This is a natural green sapphire, a 1.02 carat round brilliant measuring 5.6mm, from Songea, Tanzania, a region known for rich green and teal sapphires. Its green is its own, hand-selected by Heather for Bohemi's studio in Boulder, Colorado, where she and her team choose every stone by eye.
Sapphire sits at 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, which makes it excellent for everyday wear and the backbone of Bohemi's work. A diamond at 10 is harder, since the scale is not linear, but a sapphire at 9 is genuinely everyday-durable. The only treatment ever used on sapphires is heat, and it is always disclosed.
