This 1.05-carat mint garnet is a natural stone from the Merelani Hills of Tanzania, the same deposit known for tsavorite and other fine green garnets. Cut as a round brilliant measuring 5.6mm, it carries a fresh, spring-green color that reads bright in daylight and keeps its liveliness under warm indoor light. Priced at $945, it is a center stone with real presence at a size that sits comfortably on the hand.

Mint garnet is prized because it is almost always untreated: the color you see is entirely natural, with no heat or enhancement, which sets it apart from many commercially treated green stones. On the Mohs scale it sits at 7.5, hard enough for everyday engagement-ring wear, though it is softer than sapphire, so anyone very hard on their hands may prefer a tougher stone.
