A 1.06 carat oval Montana sapphire in teal and blue, cut in the StarBrite™ fantasy cut by John Dyer. StarBrite is a genuine John Dyer cut, and this is one of his: concave precision facets set in a star pattern that keep the stone bright from many angles, not only head-on, so it holds its light as your hand moves. Because a StarBrite is cut shallow, more of the carat sits in the face, so it reads larger than a standard cut of the same weight and can sit lower and more securely in a ring.

This is a natural Montana sapphire, mined in the United States, with the gradient color Montana is known for, blue sliding into teal that shifts with the light. At 7.5 by 5.5mm it sets beautifully as a center stone, and it drops straight into the Olympia setting or the small Arcadia setting, or into a fully custom piece designed with you.

The stone is $1,950.
