The Artifex thin band, 3mm across, reimagined with white diamonds placed organically around its faceted surfaces. This is not the usual diamond band: the stones are nestled inside the geometric facets and set asymmetrically, so what you get is hidden glimmer that appears as your hand moves, not an even line of light.

You choose the diamonds, lab grown or natural, and the metal, 14k or 18k yellow, white or rose gold, or platinum. That puts the band between $1,765 and $2,500, which makes it the most affordable way into the Artifex bands with stones. Finish is matte, satin or polished, and since it is not a dropdown on this listing, put the one you want in the notes at checkout. Black diamonds and salt and pepper diamonds both work beautifully in this setting, and Heather quotes those individually.

Three millimeters is a narrow band, so size matters more here than it does on a wide one. It can be resized, but Heather would rather mail you a wax mold before it goes into production, because a wax costs far less to mail than a finished band costs to resize, and once a ring has been resized it is final sale and cannot be returned. Is 3mm too narrow to hold set stones well?

No. The stones sit down inside the geometric facets rather than perching on a smooth surface, which is what lets a band this narrow carry them. It is the same construction as the 5mm version, scaled to the narrower width.

How long does it take to make?

About 4 to 6 weeks. If you ask for a wax mold to settle your size first, allow extra time on the front, because the mold has to reach you and come back before the band goes into production. Can this band be resized later?

Yes, it can. Heather would rather you never need to: on a 3mm band she prefers to mail a wax mold before production so the size is settled first, because mailing a wax costs far less than resizing a finished band. Wear it at home for a few days and tell us where you land. The other reason to settle it early is that once a ring has been resized it is final sale and cannot be returned.

Should I get this or the 5mm Artifex diamond band?

Same design, different presence. The 3mm sits close to the finger and leaves room for an engagement ring beside it. The 5mm gives the facets more surface and reads as the main ring on the hand, and it prices higher. If neither width is right, Heather can build this design thinner or thicker than 3mm or 5mm on request.

Can I have black or salt and pepper diamonds instead of white?

Yes, and on a narrow band a darker stone gives the facets more definition. Heather names black diamonds and salt and pepper diamonds as good choices here. Both are quoted individually rather than through the dropdown, so ask her before you order.
