The Artifex solitaire is Bohemi's most architectural engagement ring, and this is the platinum one. A 1.21ct bi-color hexagon-cut Montana sapphire is bezel-set in satin-finished platinum with a north/south Yogo Montana sapphire halo, flanked by the shimmer of channel-set natural white diamonds. Heather designed it for the modern romantic who loves clean lines and thoughtful symmetry.

The bezel is thick-walled and deliberately raised. The stone sits just high enough that a straight sided band nestles snugly underneath it, so the ring and the band read as one sculptural block rather than two separate pieces. Think of it as wearable architecture.

Channel-set natural white diamonds run along the shank. Bohemi's sapphires are natural, treated with heat only if at all, and any treatment is disclosed.

Which wedding bands sit flush under this ring?

The Artifex Wide Wedding Band and the Artifex Thin Wedding Band. Both are straight sided plain metal bands, and the raised platinum bezel gives them room to tuck underneath. Because they carry no stones, they take 3 to 4 weeks to make.

What can be changed if I want this design in something other than platinum?

The hexagon sapphire can be swapped for a salt and pepper diamond or a fantasy cut gemstone, the metal can be yellow, white or rose gold instead of platinum, and the finish can be matte, satin or polished. Ask and Heather will quote it.

Can the platinum band be sized to me, and what does that do to returns?

Yes, and a platinum bezel ring like this resizes in about 2 weeks. One thing to know first: once a ring has been resized it is final sale and cannot be returned. If you are not sure of your size, ask for a wax mold to try on before anything is built and you can skip the resize entirely.
