Starbrite Cut Sapphire Marquis Diamond Engagement Band
|
William wanted a Starbrite cut sapphire in cornflower blue with a nature setting, accenting diamonds and 14k rose gold. Starbrite cut sapphires are currently very popular and with only three people in the country cutting these stones (they are copyrighted) they are VERY in demand, and hard to get. Luck would have it that I was able to source this Kashmir blue oval sapphire hailing from Sri Lanka. The Starbrite cut has cuts on the underside of the stone that make the stone have a radiant star look to it. We did a Parti Sapphire engagement ring last year with the same cut on the underside but in a different shape and different color and it's amazing how good this cut looks no matter what shape or color the stone is!
This ring will be paired with a wedding band that lays flush against the ring in the future, therefore we added a bridge that allows a wedding band to sit lower than the engagement ring face and not hit the stones or the setting.
Natural marquis diamonds and round brilliants form a halo around the center stone which is a great way to add sparkle and make the center stone appear larger.
14k rose gold was an excellent choice with the color of the stone, it made the color of the center stone pop and will look amazing on a fair skin tone.
William and I did the entire design process through email and text. He lives on the other side of the country, so if you are not local don't worry, we can absolutely still work together! I'm happy to go through zoom, email, phone calls, texts or whichever way of communication you prefer. Designing a ring does require trust in your designer, and I hope I have the chance to earn yours!
