Montana Green Sapphire with Diamond Kites in 18k Yellow Gold

Joshua wandered in to Bohemi one day while out walking his dog Apollo. He was wanting to propose to his wonderful girlfriend Faith, and he was starting to look at engagement rings. He really liked our Sagitta Solitaire, but wanted to put a green sapphire in it instead of a diamond. Fantastic idea! I asked him if he knew what size ring Faith wore, and he did not. I explained to him a few sneaky ways we could figure out her size. He told me that a pending engagement was not a surprise, when that's the case, bringing her in to get properly sized is always the best choice.
When Faith popped in to get sized she mentioned she wanted to be involved in part of the design process, but wanted the final ring to be a surprise. Often times, no matter how well we know our partner, it's difficult to design their dream ring without some of their input. Your future fiancé can be involved as little as sizing and picking out a center stone, or they can be there every step of the way!
We ordered several green Montana sapphires for Faith to choose from and she sent me a Pinterest board of ring inspiration. Faith was very thoughtful and spent time comparing the stones before she chose a mesmerizing green, round brilliant Montana sapphire.
They chose 18k yellow gold because, wow, it looked incredible on Faith's skin and would really make that green sapphire pop! We also spent time talking about what Faith does and doesn't want in a ring, her style likes and dislikes.
Faith was involved in the process as far as choosing her stone configuration from the design drawings. She wanted a ring that was low profile, dainty and classic. She also likes a touch of witchyness and drama, so claw prongs were a must. Faith had also expressed liking botanical influences, so as a little surprise (to her) touch, we threw in a tulip setting. This setting also allows a good amount of light to come in to really let that sapphire sparkle, while still keeping it very secure. Joshua had a pretty clear vision himself and gave the final okay on all design choices.
Even though Faith picked her center stone and diamond configuration, she really had no idea what the final ring would look like. We think it turned out beautifully!
