Jodi & Greg: An Heirloom Diamond with Nyx Edge

Jodi and Greg came to us with a gorgeous 1.15 ct heirloom diamond from Greg’s family and a clear direction: make it uniquely hers. She loved the Nyx setting—especially the harlequin pattern along the shank—but wanted to swap Nyx’s signature triangle accents for something more elongated. We landed on kite-shaped geometry to amplify the ring’s angular, witchy vibe and draw the eye down the finger.

To pair cleanly with Jodi’s straight-sided heirloom wedding band, we engineered a high-profile architecture so the two would sit snugly together. For a quiet, personal detail, the gallery features a kite-shaped basket—a hidden echo of the design story. The result is a Nyx-inspired custom that blends family history with sharp, modern lines: bold, symbolic, and unmistakably Jodi.

A lovely addition to this story is that Jodi chose to not know what her finished ring would look like in real life, opting to see the final CAD renderings and then only see the ring in real life for the first time on their wedding day. What an amazing surprise!
