Choosing Your Bolo Length

Bolo tie wedding

Bolo length...what are you even talking about?! Think about a bolo like you do a necklace. Where the tips hit matters. Do you have a large neck, a long torso, jacket lapels? All of these things are considerations in how long you'll want your bolo. The best way to measure for your bolo length is to grab a flexible tape measurer and wrap it around your neck. If you don't have one of those try a piece of string or ribbon and then measure it against a ruler after you get the length. The standard length for bolos is about 3"-4" below your sternum. However, if you have a jacket and you want the tips to show above the jacket lapels you might need the length to be a little shorter. We recommend trying on your jacket and then measuring for your bolo length. There is no right answer and it is entirely personal preference. Most of our tips are epoxied onto the cord so choosing the right length the first time is super important! Have questions? Feel free to email or call us, we're happy to help!
