I’ll be honest, my least favorite metalsmithing task is sanding. When it comes to sanding I try and procrastinate as much as possible. Right now I’m supposed to be sanding and polishing new pieces for my Arise line that I am debuting at the Carbondale Mountain Fair, but instead I got sucked into The Daily Show’s coverage of the RNC, and if you ever start watching one Daily Show clip you can’t stop watching. It’s like chips, and now I feel disgusted with myself. So much work to do, so little time! I’m super excited to show you this line, one because I’m really proud of how it turned out and two because the colors make me feel like I’m eternally in summer. And I love summer. I love the heat. LOOOVE it. I’ll be showing the line in its entirety at the 45th Carbondale Mountain Fair, which is seriously one of the most fun art fairs I’ve ever been to. Three days of non-stop shenanigans. If you were thinking of taking a break from the baking hot front range and heading to the moutains this is the place to be. You can check out all the info here. Hope to see you there! Stay tuned for my next blog post with the lookbook pics of Arise!
